Title: [SOLVED] Install Rules
Post by: HJLBX on April 09, 2016, 03:35:58 AM
I tested to make sure that Install Rules does not over-write any custom rules created by user and set them back to default settings, but I just want to ask any way - just to be doubly sure.

I can see this happening if Install Rules will revert rules (even in some limited instances) back to default settings:

Advanced user spends hours creating custom rules.

Advanced user mistakenly selects "Install Rules."

ReHIPS Install Rules resets rules back to default RulesPack settings.

Advanced user has nuclear meltdown.

RulesPack has INSTALL flag for all the rules (including trusted vendors and trusted command lines). Which means if an entity (a program, a command line or a vendor) is found, it's skipped without any changes. If not found, it's installed.

Very smart feature indeed.
